Samalona Island is one of many beautiful islands that located in Makassar strait. Samalona is around 6,9 km from Makassar, that's why it becomes a favourite place for local people on weekends. It has white sand beach and also good for snorkeling.

Getting There
- Boat charter from dock in front of Fort Rotterdam
There is no regular boat to Samalona island, so you must charter a boat. Boat charter to Samalona is IDR 500,000 for a day (morning until afternoon). Maximum 8 people on a boat. If you need help with booking a boat. Please contact us here.

Sleeping
There are some accomodations running by local people on Samalona island that you can rent for half day or for few days. If you stay over night then the boat charter fee will be different. Make sure you talk to the boat man about the drop off and pick up price before you leave the dock.

Activities
- Snorkeling
There are some good spots for snorkeling. If you book through us, we'll make sure the boat man will take you to the spot. If you don't have snorkel gear you can rent them at some snorkel gear rentals on the island.

- Swimming
The water is crystal clear so it's really good for swimming. In certain parts, please be careful not to step on some sea urchins.
Eating
- A local warung on the island serves different kind of fish. You can also choose if you want it to be grilled or fried. Beside fish they also serve instant noodle, coffee, tea, and beer.
