If you are planning to visit Toraja then here are some recommendations of accomodations from us. All of these places are around Rantepao to make it easier for you to visit all tourist destinations around Toraja and North Toraja.

Toraja Lodge Also owned by a local tour guide in Toraja. The room is clean, spacious, and have a nice  views from the balcony. The room is IDR 300.000/ night. Including breakfast. Santai Toraja Hotel Santai Toraja is a boutique hotel that has two types of rooms. There is deluxe suite atau the first floor and deluxe rice field view suite at the upper floor. The rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, balconies, and hot water. It is located a bit outside of Rantepao so it's quiet and has beautiful rice field view.  Pia's Poppies Pia's Poppies is a hotel that is operating by a local Torajan family since 1982. Now it has 22 comfortable rooms with private bathroom and hot water shower. If you want to have dinner there are many restaurants in walking distance. One that is popular is Kaana Toraya Coffee. But if you are tired and don't want to go outside, this hotel also has a restaurant.

If you are travelling to South Sulawesi and want to visit Tana Toraja by land then bus is an option for you, beside renting a car with driver. There are many bus companies that go to Rantepao, Tana Toraja. They are:

Busses to Rantepao, Tana Toraja leave twice a day. First at 9 am and arrive around 7 pm in Rantepao. Second at 9 pm and arrive around 5 am in Rantepao. The bus ticket price starts from 150,000 rupiah. You can go straight to Daya Bus Terminal from airport or your hotel to take the bus. If you need any help with booking a bus ticket, please let us know.

If your arrival is not match with busses schedule, then you have two options. First, you can do a day trip in Makassar and surrounding while waiting for the night busses or morning busses. We offer some day tours if you need one. Second, you can charter a car with driver for a drop off in Toraja. Check our services here.

Tanjung Bira in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi is well known for it's powdery white sand, blue turquoise water, and beautiful underwater sea life, but beside that you can see the construction of Phinisi boat in Tana Beru which has done by local crafters from generation to generation. In 2017 UNESCO recognized Phinisi art of boatbuilding in South Sulawesi as the world's intangible cultural heritage.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will go to Liukang island for snorkeling, swimming, or sunbathing. After that we will go to Apparalang cliff. We will have lunch at a local restaurant on Liukang Loe island. After lunch we will head back to the hotel then free program.

 

Jeneponto is a regency located around 91 km from Makassar. It's a regency between Makassar and Bira beach, Bulukumba. This regency suddenly popular because of kitesurfing, but actually Jeneponto has other things to offer.

• Kitesurfing in a shallow and flat waters stretch around 2 km. This place has just opened recently and always full of travellers who love kitesurfing.

Baracoco is also located in front of Bara Beach behind some coconut trees. You can relax on the hammock with the sea breeze in Baracoco Bungalows. The rooms are clean and spacious. They are equipped with fan.

      3. Seascape

Seascape is sitting on Bara Beach. The accomodation has modern minimalist touch. There are 4 rooms and all rooms are large and equipped with air conditioner. If you take the room on the second floor then you'll have the ocean view from your balcony.

      4. Nini's Beach Bungalows

Nini's Beach Bungalows located on the cliff in front of Bara beach. The turquoise water is only few stairs away from this place. All units have a terrace facing the sea. The bungalows are clean and spacious. There is a fan in each bungalows.

      5. Tevana House Reef

Located only 5 minutes from Bara beach. The restaurant offers Thai food, Malaysian food and many more. Some units have sea view and some with garden view. The rooms are clean and well decorated. Beds are large and comfy. Each room equipped with a fan.
