How to Get to Rammang Rammang

Rammang Rammang located in Maros Regency, around 37 km from the airport and 50 km from the city center. You will arrive at Rammang-Rammang dock 1 and then you can continue your trip by a boat.
Rammang Rammang lies between karst  in Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park which is the second largest karst in the world.

Boat tariff to Rammang Rammang & Entrance Fee 

Boat tariff is IDR 200,000 or around $15 for a boat (max. 4 people). Entrance fee is IDR 10,000.

Getting to Rammang rammang from Makassar 

  • Public transport (pete-pete) from the city center
Take pete-pete (small blue car) that goes to Daya bus station, near MTC mall. From Daya bus station take pete-pete that goes to Pangkep untill the gate of Bosowa cement factory. Then you can continue walking until dock 1 to take the boat to Rammang Rammang. 
It is cheaper to go to Rammang Rammang by public transport if you are a solo traveller but if you want to visit Leang-leang prehistoric cave and Bantimurung waterfall after, it will be harder if you are using public transport.

  • Public transport (pete-pete) from Dalton hotel/ Arbor Biz hotel/  Paramount hotel/ Harper hotel
Take pete-pete (small blue car) that goes to Pangkep from the main road in front of your hotel. Get off at the gate of Bosowa cement factory. Then you can continue walking until dock 1 to take the boat to Rammang Rammang. 

  • Rent a car with English speaking driver
We provide a car with a driver for 12 hours. It's also including gasoline, parking, and toll.

Getting to Rammang rammang from Sultan Hasanuddin Airport

  • Public transport (Damri bus)
Take Damri bus until BPS (Bumi Permata Sudiang) then cross the street and take the small blue car that goes to Pangkep. Get off at Semen Bosowa gate then walk straight to dock 1.

  • Rent a car with English speaking driver

Getting to Rammang rammang from Rantepao, Toraja

  • Public bus (Metro permai, Primadona, Bintang Prima, Litha, etc.)
Take the morning bus or evening  bus from Rantepao then tell the bus driver that you want to get off at Semen Bosowa gate. Continue walking to dock 1.
  • Private car with driver from Rantepao to Rammang rammang

Located near dock 2 Rammang Rammang, only 15 minutes by boat to Rammang Rammang village. Rammang Rammang Eco Lodge offers a quiet place to stay just next to Pute river. It has restaurant as well so you don't have to go Maros town center to get food.

  • Padang Ammarrung
There is a really nice old couple live on the top of Padang Ammarrung. You can take a break at their small hut while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea and eat some fried banana.

  • Telaga Bidadari
A small pond with clear water. To get here you must do small trekking around 15-20 minutes from Telaga Bidadari dock. It's the last dock before you arrive to Berua village which is the last dock.


Refresh yourself after trekking

  • Kunang-kunang (fireflies) Cave
They call it fireflies cave because the stalactites and stalagmites reflect the light from torch so it looks like there are many fireflies. To get to this cave you must talk to the boat man before you leave dock 1. The boat man will charge you IDR 100,000 extra to get to this cave.

  • Stone Garden Kampung Laku

An area with so many stones with unique shapes. Some stones are in the pond, and more stones behind it and create labyrinth that so beautiful and you can explore. Be careful so you won't get lost inside.

  • Leang-leang Prehistoric Cave
In Leang-leang Prehistoric Cave you can see not just the prehistoric human painting, but they also have small stone garden that really instagramable.

Eating


  • Rammang-Rammang Eco Lodge and Cafe.

This cafe is the best option if you are visiting Rammang Rammang because the location is right on the river bank between dock 1 and dock 3 (Rammang Rammang village). They serve fish, squid, chicken, pasta, and nasi goreng.





  • Cafe Perjuangan 

Located at dock 1 serves nasi goreng, soto ayam, fried banana, coffee/ tea. Prices start from $1.

  • Buguri Restaurant Maros

Located near Sultan Hasanuddin Airport . It's an option if you are near this area during lunch or dinner time. They serve fried chicken, grilled chicken, seafood, and many more. If you like to eat outdoor, they have 12 gazebo built on top of fish pond.
